Books and Breakfast is a community-based collaboration between the Hub on Black Affairs and Community Engagement and the MLK Center in Indianapolis. On February 21, 2026, Dr. V will lead a discussion on  The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas. A YA novel that provides an important discussion of Black Girlhood, Identity, Community, and Hip-Hop as Resistance. 

A light breakfast will be provided and this event is open to the public. 

While RSVPs are not required, they do assist us in preparations. 

We also have a limited number of books available for participants that can be picked up in the Hub on Black Affairs, the MLK Center, or the day of the event.

Participants are not expected to read the book before the event, but are welcome to!
