Faculty Food for Thought – Virtual Presentation
“Sustainability as a Framework for Active Learning”
Led by Julia Angstmann and Jamie Valentine, Center for Urban Ecology and Sustainability (CUES)
Monday, September 28, noon–1:00 PM, RSVP to email@example.com for Zoom details.
The Center for Urban Ecology and Sustainability will discuss how the three E’s of sustainability – environment, economics, and equity – can be utilized as an engaging and relevant context for active learning pedagogies across the curriculum by applying disciplinary content to critical issues facing our campus, city, and world. This workshop will provide basic information on sustainability, how its framework can be applied in participant courses, and future resources offered to faculty interested in incorporating sustainability into their course content. This workshop may be particularly useful for those interested in gaining SJD or ICR designations for a particular course.
