Butler University Choirs

Journeying

Where do the arts take us? Music invites us on journeys that are scenic, profound, challenging, and enlightening. Join the Butler University Chorale, Spectra, and Chamber Singers for a program that explores these destinations and others, as we showcase the talents and dedication of our gifted students.

Highlights include Jocelyn Hagen’s “I Started Out Singing,” Susan Brumfield’s “No Time,” and a selection from the musical “Suffs” that highlights the journey to equal rights, all performed by Butler’s treble chorus, Spectra, and conductor Becky Marsh. The Chorale looks forward to sharing Ernst Toch’s classic “Geographical Fugue,” a work of dense counterpoint for the spoken-not sung-word, and the song “Waiting for the Light to Shine” from the musical “Big River,” a Broadway adaptation of one of the greatest fictional journeys of all time, Mark Twain’s “Huckleberry Finn.” The combined choirs will share “Journey On” by Derrick Fox. We look forward to sharing our musical journey with you!
