Portraying America's Pastime: Baseball Glove Art by Sean Kane: Guided Tour and Reception

This exhibit runs from April 30 to June 11. This event is free and open to the public during Clowes Memorial Hall lobby hours: 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM Monday through Friday.

Sean will be providing a guided tour at the opening reception on May 1 at 6:30 pm in the Clowes Memorial Hall lobby. He will share insights into his creation process, from sourcing vintage mitts and baseball research to the design preparation and portrait painting.

This exhibit presents Sean Kane's baseball-themed paintings utilizing classic baseball gloves as his canvas –– artworks which highlight the game's history, explore its Indiana connections and feature some of the greats who shined on the diamond.
Sean's paintings are a double-play combination of portraiture and hand-lettered designs on era-specific mitts, some a century-old, aiming to spark baseball-related memories and transport viewers to new discoveries of those who played the game.
